My beard is still red after beard transplant. Should I use Hydrocortisone Cream?

Hi doctors i hope you are well. Actually i had beard transplant 4 months ago, but my beard still red ? specially when i shave my beard all people can see the red beard line from Ear to mouth i asked my doctor and he tell me to use " Hydrocortisone Cream " i searched about this Cream, but some doctors Warn to not use it " more than one week " i do not why ? so do you advise me to use it ? Thanks.

Thanks for the question.  It is best to follow up with your doc.  Topical steroids are temporary.  Long term uses can cause color changes to skin or thinning. I am not sure why it is read after 4 months.

Are you a red head? Or are you saying you skin/ face is red? Redness after a hair transplant surgery (on the skin) can be a sign of early infection.You really can't say without an exam.The best advice is to follow up with your doctor for a recheck/exam.You can't consider a treatment without knowing why you have a condition.

Usually we suggest to wait it out. Ask your doctor about what to use. I am hesitant to recommend anything without examining you as you might have an infection and the use of hydrocortisone may be counter productive in this situation.

To still have redness after four months is very unusual. You need to visit with your doctor to fine the cause for the redness.
