I am in my early twenties and I don't have wrinkle lines yet, but i've noticed the females in my family tend to get fine lines this area sooner than other areas, & the older women in my family have there deepest wrinkles here and in the "marionette area". I am considering staring dysport or similar treatments on the nasolabial area for preventative measures. How many units is usually needed if the patient has no visible folds yet?
Answer: Dysport, fine lines, smile lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, fillers A neurotoxin like Dysport, Botox or Xeomin isn't recommended for the nasolabial folds or marionette lines. Typically the best treatments for mild to moderate lines in these areas is an HA filler like Juvederm, Restylane or Belotero. They help improve skin laxity, volume loss, tone and texture, and continue to allow movement.

Answer: Dysport injections Nasolabial folds are not treated with Dysport. They need to be treated/filled with a volumizing filler such as Radiesse or Restylane. Dysport is a neuromodulator like Botox, that relaxes muscle groups in the forehead, around eyes and mouth. See your provider to give you the best results. Hope this is helpful. JB

Answer: On average, how many units of Dysport gets injected for preventing nasolabaial fold lines (smile lines)? Thank you for your questions. It turns out Dysport is not generally used in the laugh lines, but does have a role in the Marionette lines. Dysport and Botox are more routinely used int he upper face while dermal fillers are used in the lower face, including the laugh lines. If you do not have visible laugh lines, then there is not much to do at this point. Prevention of aging signs starts a careful examination by an experienced physician and a careful analysis of your skin and aging signs. Do not forget to perform good skin care and sunblock which helps tremendously to reduce premature aging signs as well.

Answer: How Many Units Of Dysport Help Prevent Nasolabial Fold Lines? The answer to your question is, "there is no answer".Since the nasolabial folds are static and not dynamic, and the paralyzers like Botox and Dysport, only work on dynamic wrinkles (i.e. wrinkles caused by muscle such as the smile lines on the sides of eyes or the frown lines between the eyes), static folds are best treated with fillers such as Vollure or Restylane. As far as I understand, the nasolabial folds are caused by loose cheek skin falling over tight perioral tissue (around the mouth). This is a static situation, and I am not sure how a paralyzer such as Dysport can be used to prophylatically treat them. New York City is teeming with incredibly knowledgeable Board Certified plastic surgeons and dermatologists. I would consult several before you allow anyone to inject nasolabial folds with Dysport.

Answer: Typically, dermal fillers are used for nasolabial folds, not Dysport® or BOTOX®. Injectable wrinkle treatments like Dysport® and BOTOX® are generally used to treat dynamic expression lines on your forehead, between your eyebrows and at the corners of your eyes. Dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Resylane®, on the other hand, are typically best suited for “filling in” and smoothing nasolabial folds and other wrinkles and creases in the mid-face area. However, if you’re not seeing any signs of wrinkles just yet, getting fillers now won’t prevent future wrinkles from forming.
