I’ve had this pointy bump on the left side of my nose that’s gotten more obvious over the years. I am 23. When I turn my head to my left it looks like I have a big bump on my nose. When I turn It to the right my nose looks normal and straight although the little pointy bone still is obvious. When I look straight you can see this bone still. Sometimes it even looks like a pimple on my nose. Is this easily fixable? I’m scared of surgery.
Answer: Bump on the nose: What are your options? Thank you for providing images along with your question. The pointy bump you are concerned about may be cartilage or bone. To know for sure, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Your surgeon can properly assess the bump and determine its cause. Typically, rhinoplasty can be performed to remove bumps on the nose, and for a non-surgical approach, fillers may be used to even out your nasal bridge. Your surgeon should be able to explain to you how these procedures will be performed, how it can address your concerns, and help you achieve the nose you desire.

Answer: Simple, closed surgery will be enough Thank you for your question. There is obviously a bump on the left side of your nose, but you don't have to worry much as it can be removed through simple surgery. The operation is considered to be possible with a closed approach.

Answer: Nasal bump... From the photos, it appears to be either a small cartilage or bony spur. These can start to form during puberty and get bigger over the next several years. Taking it down during a small procedure should not be difficult. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

Answer: What is the bump on the left side of your nasal bridge? What is the bump on the left side of your nasal bridge? The bump looks like an edge of misplaced Cartlidge or bone. You did not mention having a Rhinoplasty. Did you? Did you have nasal trauma such as a nasal fracture at any point? To determine whether this is a bony or cartelagenous mass rather than a skin lesion put your finger on it and move your finger back-and-forth. If it stays down on the bone while the skin moves back-and-forth over it then it is probably bone or cartilage. If it moves with the skin when you move your finger back-and-forth then it may be a skin mass. In any event a plastic surgeon should evaluate it in person for a more definitive answer. In any event the definitive fix would probably be Surgical.

Answer: What is the pointy bump on my nose? Based on your photos, you appear to have relatively thin nasal skin, and the area where your bump is, has the thinnest skin. Did you have nasal trauma? It looks like a piece of dislocated cartilage. Sometimes these may be camouflaged with fillers, and other times surgery may be required. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
