Is my nose round? Main focus is fixing the bridge. Thoughts? (photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. It sounds like your biggest concerns are your nasal dorsum, (especially the upper portion) which is wide, and the overall shape (possibly the nasal tip shape) which looks "weird," as you mentioned. Addressing the dorsal hump and the shape of the nose (particularly the nasal tip) are 2 of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. Many people complain that their nasal tip is too "bulbous" or "boxy" or just poorly defined, and that they would like it to be smaller, cuter, more defined, or more feminine. An open septorhinoplasty can best address the entire nose, and is particularly effective for addressing all the issues you are concerned with.
In addition to addressing your aesthetic concerns, your septal cartilage would be harvested (removed) and turned into multiple cartilage grafts, which would then be secured into different areas of your nose for structural support.
The open approach is very effective in facilitating complex, precise maneuvers to refine the nasal shape and size to a particular aesthetic and look. Rhinoplasty is arguably the most difficult procedure to perform in all of plastic surgery. That said, I would recommend only going to see a surgeon who feels very comfortable with both primary and revision rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience in these types of surgeries. This is a surgery of millimeters, so if the surgeon you're going to only does 1-2 per month, you are not going to get the best result possible.
Regarding the anesthesia, my personal preference is similar to most- full general anesthesia to assure the most controlled environment and facilitate the best possible aesthetic results for such a complex procedure. Everything ultimately comes down to surgeon and patient preference, so always have the conversation with your surgeon so you both know exactly what to expect, and so you both feel comfortable with how the procedure will be performed prior to proceeding.
Of course it is always difficult to provide tentative surgical recommendations, as there is only so much information to be gained from the photos provided. I recommend for you to come see me or another plastic surgeon comfortable with rhinoplasty procedures for a formal consultation to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate all your options (surgical and nonsurgical), and decide on the best procedure(s) and type of anesthesia for your specific case. The bridge doesn't look to bad - maybe a little flat, which can be improved with grafting to make it look higher and therefore thinner. The tip can be narrowed a bit at the same time. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation that can do computer imaging at the same time.

Hi , during a rhinoplasty nasal width, hump and tip can be enhanced to achieve the desired shape. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and discuss the surgical procedure and the post op recovery process.

In person exam is essential. Based on limited photos- it appears that you would benefit from a Cosmetic Rhinoplasty preferably performed through a closed technique with possible cartilage grafting. Based on your photos, you appear to have relatively thick nasal tip skin, and the width of your bridge does not appear excessively wide based on these limited photos. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, I would suggest Consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. A closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish reduction of the bulbous tip, lifting the droopy tip, shaving down the dorsal hump and narrowing the bridge line with all of the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. No external incisions are required, and no painful packing is required either. It's also important to release the depressor septi ligament, which dynamically pulls the tip downwards when smiling. Digital computer, imaging of your nose upon your facial features would be helpful to understand what can and cannot be accomplished.
