I have hair transplants scheduled for late February. By that time, I will have been off Accutane/isotretinoin for a little over four months. I know the old recommendation was six months (or, even more conservatively, a year). It's my understanding that that time frame is more based on convention than science, and that recent research has called it into question. Is four months enough, or is six really a magic number? Thanks!

PRP will help but in a shorter period like in the 3rd - 6th - 9th and the 12th months after the operation. if your grafts didn't survive it won't be helpful. but recommended to do it for the survived hair follicles.
This one small photo is not enough to make a diagnosis or treatment plan. I would recommend you booking a consult with your local hair transplant surgeon for a full assessment and discussion of treatment options!Best of luck
