Hello, I have genetic eye bags and am wondering if they look like they’d be eligible for lower bleph. I am 24F. I am also wondering about the extended line around my eye socket and causes of that, thank you!

Common reasons for lower blepharoplasty include tear trough deformity or pseudoherniation of the orbital fat. An in-person exam would provide a more accurate diagnosis, but preliminarily based on your photos it does appear you have pseudoherniation of fat creating "eye bags.” They should also be more prominent when you look up. To create a more youthful look with a smooth eyelid to cheek transition, transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty is a great option. If you want the best idea of what is possible for your eyes, do your due diligence, find an experienced surgeon, and have him/her evaluate you in person and discuss your options. #drdonyoo

Thank you for submitting your question and photos. It is possible to reduce the appearance of bags under the eyes with a lower blepharoplasty procedure. This minimally invasive surgery can smooth the transition between the eye and upper cheek by sculpting, repositioning, or removing excess fat, depending on each patient’s individual situation.

It appears that major reason for such an early appearance of tear trough groove and small bags above it, is condition known as malar hypoplasia (small cheek bones). Correction can be achieved through incision placed inside of your lower eyelid, to correct muscle and ligament attachments and reduce fat bags. A trans conjunctival approach lower blepharoplasty can accomplish removal of those herniated fat bags in the lower lids creating the puffy look. Make sure you have any allergies under control. The incision is located completely on the inside of the eyelids. We perform this procedure under a brief general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Anticipate approximately 10 days of visible bruising and swelling, even though the incisions on the inside of the  eyelid.

I would never consider a blepharoplasty for someone your age. What you need is filler or fat grafting by an expert. Make sure it is placed deep below the line.
