Your outcome is purely due to your provider, lacking skill, and or experience. Liposuction outcomes are fairly permanent and very difficult to correct. Any attempt at improving your outcome can just easily make things worse. There may be some room for improvement but considering that revision Liposuction is much more difficult than primary procedures I suggest Using caution. Finding a sufficiently experienced provider to make a quality assessment and actually make things better may be difficult. You weren’t able to find a sufficiently skilled provider the first time around. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize it. Likewise, the number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of Liposuction is in reality quite small. Most plastic surgeons do average work and average work when it comes to Liposuction may not be all that impressive. To make a quality assessment we always need proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. You should also ask your provider to forward a copy of your medical record, especially your operative report. To get a proper second opinion consultation, I suggest you scheduled those in person consultations. For second opinion consultations come prepared bringing with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures and a copy of your previous operative report. A quality assessment requires quality information. It’s probably not possible to restore your outcome to what most people would consider a quality outcome or looking normal. Because things can be made worse at attempt at improvement. Patients should be careful when considering revision work. This definitely includes going back to the same provider, who wasn’t able to do the job correctly in the first place. I’m sorry this happened to you. You would think that being bored certified in plastic surgery would be sufficient, but it is not. My best word of advice when selecting a provider is insisting they show you as many before, and after pictures of previous patients who had the same problem as you did before committing to that provider or scheduling surgery. I highly recommend patients avoid virtual consultations and always insist on meeting the provider in person. Bring pictures of yourself to use as a reference during consultations. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. Efficiently experience provider should have more before and after pictures for you to look at then you have time for during the consultation. There should be an endless supply of quality outcomes to confirm the provider has to skill an experience to consistently deliver quality work. One or two examples is totally insufficient. Providers aren’t gonna tell you that they aren’t good at Liposuction. Again, I’m sorry this happened to you. I wish I could be more optimistic. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
