Hi I want to have some lip fillers but I just found out lip fillers/ any filler migrates and can create a “puffy injection face” and that a filler never goes away completely and the only way is to dissolve it is it true?

In my opinion, any injectable filler is capable of causing collagen formation and scar tissue through an immune response. In fact, some people have issues nodules and fullness after HA injections and the dissolving enzyme is not always curative.

Thanks for your question! Dermal fillers, like Juvéderm or Restylane, typically last about a year and are metabolized by the body over time. Depending on your body, your filler might dissolve faster (or slower) than others. If you feel that you have residual filler that is not metabolizing fast enough to your liking, you can have an experienced provider inject hyaluronidase into the treatment area to dissolve the remaining filler. Know that filler migration is rare, but is best avoided by booking your treatment with an experienced provider. Hope this helps!

HA fillers are metabolized by the body over time.  Depending on the filler selected, the amount of time it takes for this to occur will vary.  They also can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  I encourage you to discuss your concerns with an expert injector.

The substance dissolves over a period of time ranging from 4-12 months, with most desiring replenishment after about 6 months. There may be a degree of residual fullness with repeated injections as the filler itself stimulates the formation of collagen. Hyaluronidase injections will dissolve residual hyaluronic acid but will have no effect on collagen.Migration problems are unusual and occur far more often with the use of lip implants.A skilled injector will provide the best care.
