I’ve noticed that some doctors in general will tell you not to ice at all after facial fat transfer, ice minimally or even say that icing will not kill fat cells. Why is everyone’s answer different?

Different physicians carry different after-care protocols. Swelling is typical after a facial fat transfer and can last up to 3-6 months. I recommend platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to help improve final results. Icing the area, Prednisone, Ibuprofen and Venus Legacy treatments can all help reduce swelling. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

There is no supporting evidence whether icing is beneficial or not post facial fat transfer. So feel free to do or not do. Either won't affect your results or fat uptake.
