hello! i (18y/o) am currently considering a genioplasty to fix my recessed chin sometime next year. for context i have had various chin fillers in the past but i wasn't satisfied with the projection it gave me. im also on invisalign right now to help correct my overbite. the pics i have are before (me currently) and what my ideal is (im pretty bad at morphing so sorry if it looks kind of strange)

Your options for a recessed chin include a sliding genioplasty or a silicone chin implant. Both procedures would be a permanent way to give greater chin projection. These procedures can be done in the office with sedation anesthesia. Neither procedure will affect your bite or change your smile.

You are on stop, that simulation is feasible and commendable, to the point.

You've already lived through the disappointment and money-wasting of fillers, don't you imagine how much with chin implants plus the fact implants are very problematic, even deforming sometimes.

If I perceive correctly the images you've posted a sliding genioplasty may suffice, but better images are needed to provide a grounded opinion, perpendicular and all 5 main takes.

Yes—surgical genioplasty can often achieve projection similar to what you’re showing in your edited photos. However, digital morphs are only a rough guide and don’t always reflect what is surgically safe or harmonious for your features.
In most patients, the chin can be advanced anywhere from 4–8 mm through a sliding genioplasty. That range provides a noticeable improvement while maintaining balance with the rest of the face. Larger movements are sometimes possible, but they must be carefully tailored to your bite, facial proportions, and airway considerations.
Because you’re currently on Invisalign, timing matters too—many surgeons recommend completing or nearly completing orthodontics before surgery to ensure the chin advancement looks natural and works in harmony with your corrected bite.
Bottom line: an in-person evaluation with a board-certified plastic surgeon or oral & maxillofacial surgeon will confirm whether your desired edits are achievable and safe.

Typical genioplasty advancement is about 4–8 mm, which often provides results close to digital edits. Your orthodontic treatment should be factored into the surgical plan.
