Do I need to dissolve (potentially) migrated lip filler before reinjecting? (photos)

I have been filling my lips for about 8 years now. Always using juvederm. Recently I reached out to a new practicioner who told me I would need to dissolve it all to get my lips reinjected. It has now been exactly 7 months since my last injection and I do not feel like my lip filler has migrated but I could be wrong. I would like to avoid having to dissolve anything before reinjecting. Is this process necessary or can the migrated filler ( if real) dissolve on its own?

Thanks for your photos and question! I disagree and so not recommend dissolving any lip filler. I would recommend adding filler to the lower lip to help with your facial harmony. Good luck!

Based on your photos, your upper lip appears slightly larger than your lower lip. Generally, people are born with lower lips slightly larger than their upper lips so I could see that your upper lip may be slightly overcorrected. In that regard, it may not be a good idea to add more filler to your upper lip, and I don't see any emergency to get something dissolved. If you want a fuller lip appearance, adding volume to your lower lip may lead to a more pleasing balance. Hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Not sure what you mean by you migrated filler but ........In normal circumstances there is no need to dissolve filler to add more but it is possible that this doctor does not feel that they can work around the filler that you have to achieve the desired shape. They might want to work on clean canvas, so to speak.

Based on the series of nicely posted photos, I see NO reason to dissolve anything! Maybe you need a new injector?? If in NYC go to Get Plump injection bar.
