Hello! I have melasma on my face and I have heard from multiple sources that fragrances are bad for melasma and hyperpigmentation. My question is, can I apply perfume on my body, will it worsen the melasma on my face can i apply it around armpits, will it affect the melasma on my face in any way?

Answer: Inflammation can increase melasma development
I would suggest using topical creams such as Luminase and Exfolase body brightening creams instead of intense lasers. The creams can help lighten pigmentation but these areas are rather resistant to depigmentation in the long term.
