Lymphedema and BBL?

Hi Friends-- I have severe lymphedema in my right leg. I have it under control with compression therapy, diet, and weight loss. However, I want a BBL pretty badly. It's my dream procedure. Does anyone have any experience with a BBL being performed successfully on a patient with a history of lymphedema? The lymphedema goes up the entire leg but is much less severe in the hip and butt area. It's very soft and manageable in those areas.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Lymphedema is a pretty serious condition at least for some people.
Is yours idiopathic or is there a primary cause? Personally I would probably not do a BBL on someone who has unilateral lower extremity lymphedema.
Surgical intervention can create scar tissue and interfere with lymphatic drainage, and this could make the condition worse.
I suggest you have a few in person, consultations with plastic surgeons in your community to get more accurate assessment and understanding of the condition and how surgery may implicate potential issues or not.
