Should I get fillers or gain some weight back? I wasn't overweight before (122 5'5 V 112 5'5) so my health will not suffer The right side of my face looks flatter. I get told I look tired. Though I am tired (busy grad student). My eyes look more sunken. I am not sure if this is normal aging - I'm 31 - or because of environment/diet. I would like to avoid fillers as long as I have to

Answer: Fillers Thank you for your question. I agree that you should stay away from fillers for as long as possible. Your question mentioned a 10 pound weight loss. My first question to you would be why did you lose the weight? Was it spontaneous or were you trying? If you haven't had a complete physical recently, I would suggest starting with your Internist. Blood work might be a good idea. Good luck. Dr. DiPasquale

Answer: Flat face after weight loss Many women complain that when they lose weight, it makes their face look tired or saggy. It is also true that most of us are flatter on one side of our face than the other. We usually lose more volume on the side on which we most frequently sleep. Looking at your picture, I would suggest Voluma in your cheeks and the area of your cheekbones. This will "lift" your lower face some and add beautiful volume to the midface area where you are flat. This does normally improve the appearance of sunken eyes, although I tell my clients that we should inject the Voluma and then reassess in about two weeks. If they want additional correction for sunken eyes, we can always a very thin filler (such as Juvederm Ultra) into the area just under the eye. Be aware, though, that this requires advanced training and should only be done by an experienced injector. Best of luck to you!
