In root canal treated teeth with insufficient tooth tissue, covering the tooth with a crown provides a longer lasting solution as it will prevent possible fractures in the future. However, crown materials offer a weaker connection than natural teeth for the attachment of orthodontic brackets. Until the end of your orthodontic treatment process, the process can be completed with a composite veneer style material. After your orthodontic treatment is completed, crowns (preferably E-max or zirconia) will contribute to the tooth being more robust and aesthetic.
