Question

I’m a 28 year old male who’s interested in buccal fat removal. Onen plastic surgeon I recently spoke to told me I would be a good candidate, but I’m nervous if it’s going to make me look worse. (photos include)

I would recommend being careful with male buccal fat removal. It should be very conservative else it can feminize the face or make it hollow.

Buccal fat removal helps when there is excess fat bulging to the sides of the mouth.  In thin faces, removing the buccal fat may make the face look thinner and possibly older.  
Fat grafting or filler to the cheeks helps to balance the face.  Fat grafting about a third survives and filler lasts 6-12months.

Good Afternoon! Buccal fat could be a good option for you. The results are subtle and I make sure to stress this to my patients. The size of the fat pad is about that of a walnut - so not enormous. The best results achieve a shadowing from the high cheek bones to the jawline. It will not look like you're sucking on a straw. The recovery is straightforward other than some tenderness with chewing for 1-2 weeks. Swelling can last 3-6 weeks. Hope this helps!
