What can be done about my broken tooth? (Photo)

Hello, I broke a small part of my tooth (number 19) and I was wondering what would need to be done to fix this tooth? Does it look like it needs a root canal? And would it be possible to fix it with an onlay instead of a crown? Is there anything else that can be done for it?
