Hello, I’m a 26 year old woman who underwent Nuss Repair for pectus at 13 and my bar was removed at 15. I’m currently seeking breast augmentation but I’m wondering if there is typically any muscle to put the implant under? Any info or experiences would be helpful?
Answer: Augmentation after Nuss repair Hi, I recently performed a breast augmentation on a patient who had a previous nuss bar procedure and she did great. In her case, the implant was placed in the subfascial plane (above the muscle) due to her also having a significantly diminished pectoralis muscle as part of another disorder. The pectoralis major is the muscle breast implants are placed partially under during subpectoral placement. In most women, the pectoralis muscle is unaffected. You can discuss with your surgeon which is the best placement option for you.

Answer: Breast Augmentation After Nuss Pectus Repair Dear Gregarious236767, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breasts You did not show photos, so you will need an examination to see how much muscle would be available. Otherwise, the implants would be placed in front of the muscle. Fat transfers could be added for a little more fill.

Answer: Breast augmentation after correction of pactus excavatum Although I have no personl experience with patients with your history, I can see no reason why breast augmentation with implants would be a problem. If there are any concerns about underlying anatomy (muscle, rib cage irregularities), a CT scan would help. This is best to be discussed with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in breast surgery. Good luck.

Answer: Thank you for your question. An examination in person is required to properly evaluate you and determine which technique or options are advisable. Your pectoral muscles need to be assessed, along with breast shape and size. Please consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon whose aesthetics seem to align with your own. Best of luck to you.
