I would not offer AWT for incontinence. I don't believe it strenghens the pelvic floor. I would use radiofrequency treatments like ThermiVa . ThermiVa is safe and effective. A hip replacent has no barring on this therapy. Hope this is helpful. JB
It depends on the cause of incontinence. If the cause is laxity of the pelvic floor muscles (hypotonia), AWT can help as part of an overall rehabilitation program, primarily by helping to improve circulation, as other physicians pointed out, but also by stimulating muscle fiber regeneration. If the cause is too much pelvic floor muscle tone (hypertonia), AWT is highly effective in addressing urinary problems. Another important consideration is whether there is comorbid interstitial cystitis, in which case a different AWT protocol might be required. A thorough evaluation by your urologist or urogynecologist will help determine the cause. If there is a neuromuscular cause, AWT will help.
Acoustic sound wave is an amazing treatment for incontinence! By increasing blood flow to the tissue around the urethra, we are increasing the strength of regeneration in that area. Healthy tissue around the urethra increases the chance that it works properly, thereby decreasing stress incontinence. Acoustics sound waves can also work for other types incontinence. Having a hip replacement does not preclude a patient from getting this therapy.
Acoustic wave has been shown to be effective for the treatment of Urinary Incontinence in women. It also helps with dyspareunia (vaginal pain) and difficulty with Orgasm. The procedure is often termed "FemiWave". A focused acoustic wave device such as the Storz Duolith is the best in our opinion and is much easier to tolerate than non-focused "radial" devices. Having a hip replacement is not a contraindication to this type of therapy.
It helps strengthen the tissues that are sometimes relaxed in incontinence. If you are a candidate then it may help. Hip replacement should not be an issue.
Yes, as part of a program to improve erectile dysfunction (ED). This includes addressing underlying vascular and other health issues, strengthening pelvic floor muscles, and lifestyle changes to improve overall health. ED is usually not caused by a single thing but rather by multiple causes and...
Acoustic wave therapy has been shown in multiple clinical studies to assist in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The majority of the studies done used what is called a "focused" shock wave device such as the Storz Duolith we use at Renew MediSpa. Weekly sessions x 6 to 12 (depends on the...
I have no experience with Cellupulse. Would recommend you find a provider that does both procedures. Sorry. JB
