The only side effect I ran into is simple bruising. Otherwise it is a safe therapy. Some treatments require numbing cream but otherwise perfectly safe. Hope this helps. JB

Acoustic wave therapy is a very safe procedure with no downtown. You should inform your physician if you have pacemaker,  defibrillator or vagal/nerve stimulators which might be affected by the shock wave therapy.

Thank you for your question. Acoustic wave therapy (AWT) is extremely versatile and is being used for the treatment of cellulite, as an adjunct treatment to fat reduction with Vanquish Me and CoolSculpting, for the treatment of musculo-skelatal pain, following liposuction to promote smoother results, and for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. In our office we use the Zimmer Z Wave for all of these applications. There are no significant side effects to this therapy when properly performed.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore
