If the ED is caused by vascular issues (usually arterial disease), Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) can help to increase the local circulation in the penis that is required to have and maintain an erection for intercourse. A great combination therapy for improving ED is combining AWT with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments. The success rate is higher as both work in different ways for the same goal of increasing the local circulation.
Yes the studies have shown an 80-90% effective outcome. This has been used successfully in Europe and Israel for decades. Of course it depends on the health history, smoking and age. It causes micro trauma in the penile organ and the body itself rebuilds the blood supply. Regenerative medicine. Hope this helps. JB
Yes, as part of a program to improve erectile dysfunction (ED). This includes addressing underlying vascular and other health issues, strengthening pelvic floor muscles, and lifestyle changes to improve overall health. ED is usually not caused by a single thing but rather by multiple causes and may be a sign of a serious medical problem. Each of these must be addressed to get the best, and most lasting, results.
To answer your question with the most straightforward language you have first to understand the reason for the ED. Penile erection is a physiological process that consists of blood circulation and muscle strengthening. As aging happens, blood vessels shrink, plaques inside blood vessels which is also called atherosclerosis of blood vessels (secondary to high cholesterol, sugar, smoking, etc.) reduces blood circulation causes erectile dysfunction. Shockwave treatments throw powerful shockwaves which are few centimeters in depth and can break down plaques inside blood vessels, increase blood circulation, and help with muscle strengthening. Each treatment is consists of applying around 3-5K joules of energy. This treatment can be combine with the famous PRP treatment called P-Shot and increase the efficassy of the results. You will need minimum 8-10 treatments(normally done twice a week) to see some improvement. I hope I have answered your question.
Using Acoustic Wave therapy to treat ED has been well studied and found to be completely safe, with no known side effects - and effective. Please see a link to one recent article, below. In general, Acoustic Wave therapy works by improving blood flow to the penis. Better blood flow results in erections that are easier to achieve and sustain; results last 2 years or so. After that time, men will often pursue a maintenance treatment once every year or so as needed, if / when they begin to notice the problem beginning to recur.Unlike medications or injections which are designed to create an erection in the moment, but do not do anything to address the underlying problem, Acoustic Wave therapy actually creates a beneficial physiological change, the growth of new blood vessels, that provides lasting benefits. The specific treatment protocol that will give you optimal results depends on the severity of the problem. Men who have mild ED and don't have any other medical conditions; don't take medications; don't smoke, can often do well with 4 - 6 Acoustic Wave treatments. For men with more more factors contributing to erectile functioning difficulties, we find that more treatments may be necessary, and combing Acoustic Wave therapy with P Shots can be more effective than either treatment alone. It is also recommended that you use a pump twice daily for at least 8 weeks following the Acoustic Wave and or P Shot treatments, to optimize results. The pump brings blood flow to the area which accelerates the healing response.
When performed well, there is definitely good evidence showing a majority of men will improve. I combine the p shot (PRP), a penis pump with a pressure gauge and weekly Gainswave treatments and my results are above 90%. Smoking cigarettes, poorly controlled diabetes and prostate surgery lower your chances of success.
Thank you for your question. Clinical studies show that acoustic wave therapy improves erectile dysfunction in about 70% of cases. This treatment aims to restore the erectile mechanism to enable natural or spontaneous erections. One of the main causes of erectile dysfunction is impaired blood flow to the penis which can happen because various reasons. Studies have shown that Acoustic wave therapy produces microtrauma to the penile tissue which stimulates angiogenesis (the formation of new vasculature) thereby improving blood flow to the penile tissues. Of course there other conditions that can cause erectile dysfunction which include psychological issues, hormonal factors such as low testosterone, enzyme abnormalities such as high phosphodiesterase level, and other various medical conditions. It is important to talk to a doctor who is knowledgeable about acoustic wave therapy to discuss your situation.
Thank you for your question. In the clinical studies approximately 3 out 4 patients will respond to acoustic wave therapy. In some instances patients will be able to go off medications such as Viagra and Cialis and in other situations, patients who are no longer responsive to these medications may become responsive. Factors working against a positive outcome include Low T, history of prostate surgery or radiation therapy to the prostate gland, diabetes, known vascular disease, and medication induced ED. In many instances these patients may respond but a lower percentage may respond. In addition to being very effective for most men, there are no side effects from this treatment.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore
Multiple studies have shown its ability to regenerate blood vessels and nerve endings if done correctly. I highly recommend it. At my clinic we use it along with other treatments like PRP injections.
