Worried about smelly discharge on steri strips (Photo)

Question

I am 11 days post op breast lift and had my day after surgery strips changed today. My left breast had some clear discharge on the incision that smelled off. The nurse cleaned my wounds and put on new steri strips. She said it was fine and not to worry. Could the smell have been from the blood and oozing trapped after surgery? Do I put neosporin over the steri strips just in case? Should I still get them wet in the shower? The PS didn't seem concerned and I'm not on antibiotics.

dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well… 
I have to say that you are still early on healing process, it is too soon to
determine how your results are going to be, per now, they look very nice and
beautiful, you can have one bigger than the other, feel swollen and also have
bruises and open wounds, it is normal and that can happen for the first 3 to 4
months until your implants have settle in. I recommend you to wait and keep
using your post surgical bra, that will help you with the shape and support. Hugs!

Thank you for sharing your postop mastopexy image. All looks fine and I would see your PS for advice. Once the steristips are removed and you are showering the wounds I am sure this will resolve.

It is best to follow the instructions given to you by your surgeon or his nurse.  A small amoutn of blood or slight skin seperation often goes on to heal without any major problems.
