Has anyone had luck with Daxxify for patients immune to other neurotoxins?

It appears that I have antibodies for Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Juveau. My treatments stopped working Summer of 2022. Since I have had several treatments or testing of all Neurotoxin with absolutely NO result. These treatments have been with 2 plastic surgeons and My dermatologist. I am wondering if anyone has had luck with Daxxify for patients immune to other Neurotoxins.

Hi Angela, great question. The major differentiating factor between Daxxify and other neuromodulators, like Botox, is that Daxxify uses peptides in lieu of animal/human serum albumin as a stabilizer. The addition of the peptide is also what gives Daxxify its longevity. However, like all other neuromodulators in the US (Botox/Xeomin/Dysport/Jeuveau), Daxxify uses Botulinum toxin type A; and chances are, that’s the actual ingredient wherein lies your resistance/immunity.Unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing what your results would be without trying out the product or knowing for sure which ingredient you’ve built immunity against. If you’ve developed antibodies to multiple neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau), you may indeed be resistant to conventional botulinum toxin type A preparations. Daxxify&mdash;which is also based on botulinum toxin type A&mdash;does offer a different formulation (including a novel peptide), but it remains to be seen whether that difference is enough to bypass an existing immune response. Clinical data on how Daxxify performs in patients with high antibody titers to other toxins is still limited, so definitive guidance is tough at this stage. 
Mechanism of Resistance is key here! • Resistance often develops due to antibodies formed against the toxin’s active component or accessory proteins. • If you have antibodies to the core toxin itself, switching brands doesn’t always help because they share similar toxin structures.Anecdotally, I have seen/treated a number of Botox resistant patients with Daxxify successfully :)So it’s worth exploring if the differences in formulation might provide a benefit, but go in with realistic expectations.

I have had one patient who developed resistance to Dysport that responded to Daxxify. She never had treatment with Botox, Xeomin or Juveau. Immune resistances are variable so this patient's response to Daxxify would not guarantee that Daxxify would work for you but it would be worth a try.
