Jessner's can be very inflammatory and can cause complications if not done properly.  I suggest only going to a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in peels.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Jessner solution usually has an expiration date on the bottle.  These dates are determined by the maker of the peel and calculated by how long it takes for the active ingredients to lose their potency.  There are other factors that can change the date too such as additives or preservatives in the solution.  It is very important that the peel is not expired and used by a trained practitioner to achieve appropriate and expected results.

All chemical agents can weaken with time on the shelf, and have an expiration date.  More important is the results you get from any chemical peel can vary depending on many factors such as pre-op treatment regimen and the number of applications, amount of solution and aggressiveness of the application.  All of these components are part of the "art" of chemical peeling.  Because of this, you can use a chemical such as Jessner's and get very different results, depending on your goals
