I have a lot of fat on my chin not the underneath but the actual chin and it makes it stick out. I am a teenager but I constant comment on why my chin sticks out for so many years. All I have ever wanted is for it to be less and stop sticking out. What’s the best for me or any type of surgery? I do want something permanent.

While a sliding genioplasty can be helpful for some things, certainly in your case it would likely advance the chin more and make an even more projected chin.Reversing the slide backwards will make the chin less forward but probably equally or more full.Typically we carefully shape the soft tissue of cases like this, though it is difficult.

You may be surprised to hear that the most complaints I get from patients who believe their chin is too short. You have a strong chin which you may notice now as being a problem but in your middle and later years it will define a strong jawline and be very much to your credit. Something that may be done sooner is Botox injection to the men talus muscle which will soften your chin but please don’t do anything permanent as like I say, this is usually a feature that people find attractive. This can be corrected by sliding genioplasty. You would need to see a maxillofacial surgeon and have X-rays taken
