Question

I have lost 120lbs. I have become a runner. I eat very healthy. I have a lot of loose skin on my arms, abdomen, and thighs. I have been at a plateau for over a year. I am frustrated and sad as I want to reach my "goal" weight but feel as though My extra skin is inhibiting my forward progress, especially my running. My issue in money. I would have my arms done now but money is not there. Are there any programs or ideas as to finding funding or assistance. Thank you,Donna

Excellent accomplishment. In regards to your programs that assist with weight loss patients with plastic surgery, there are several. The most well-known is a program called WLSFA. This stands for Weightloss Surgery Foundation of America. Every year they sponsor a person for gastric and another patient for plastic surgery. If you become selected as their yearly sponsor, you may qualify for selected procedures. Please consult with WLSFA if you feel like you are a worthy candidate.

Congratulations on your weight loss! It takes a lot of commitment and dedication to loose over 100lbs! The only way to remove your excess skin is to have  body lift surgery ( stages of surgeries). Since these are elective procedures-- they are not covered by insurance. In our practice we offer Financing with 0%interest -  or extended pay plans with interest if approved. But removing the excess skin will tremendously improve your lifestyle! Good luck!
