I'm getting a septoplasty some time this year, my septum is very deviated and I can't use my nose at all. This will be covered by my insurance. However, I'm interested in eliminating my double chin at the same time (to save anesthesia costs & etc), but I don't think my insurance will cover that since it's purely cosmetic. I'm not overweight at all and never have been, it's just bad genetics unfortunately! Without taking anesthesia into account, do any of y'all have an estimate for the cost?

Answer: Average cost getting rid of double chin? Hi, I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. Non smiling photos, of your face, from the front and side would help in the evaluation. If your chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Excess fat can be removed as well as excess skin from under the chin at the same time using the same incision.Hope this helps.
