Answer: Neck lift Thanks for sharing. In your age group the best most satisfying results would be a neck lift. This would involve some liposuction, platymaplasty (tightening the turkey bands) and lifting and removing some skin. I feel anything less will be disappointing. Meet with several experienced board certified surgeons to review you candidacy.

Answer: Liposuction with Thermitight You will get an excellent result with liposuction and Thermitight. The skin is loose but not excessive. A few more years and you might need a facelift. RegardsDr. J

Answer: Is removing loose skin under my chin via liposuction recommended for a 67 year old woman? Hi, non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. Excess skin can be removed from below the chin using a small, curved incision hidden under the chin. Chin augmentation and fat removal can be performed through the same incisions as described below.I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.

Answer: Loose skin Liposuction will not remove loose skin under the chin. You would probably need a necklift or facelift to remove any excess skin and tighten the neck. Liposuction will remove excess fat and the skin will tighten in younger patients depending on the amount fat removed and the skin elasticity. The older the patient, the less likely this will work. Good luck. Donald R. Nunn MD Atlanta Plastic Surgeon
