I am a 19 year old male,I have a big forehead since childhood but recently for 2-3 years I am seeing hair loss in my hairline and hairs above my ears on both sides.I have thin hairs and sometimes i have flaky scalp too and also my dad is bald from the front portion, his hairline now starts from middle of his head(from backside of ears).

In my opinion, the hair that grows back after telogen effluvium should be similar to your previous hair. It is possible that telogen effluvium can unmask a androgenic hair loss. This would lead to a decreased density. It is also possible that it may take a few cycles for the new hair to regrow...
