Appt with surgeon next week about my results…what should I ask? Not happy with my results.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Your surgeon didn't do you any favors by putting your implants over the muscle. You needed a breastlift from the beginning, and all you have to do to prove that is manually push on your implant from under your breast into a higher position on the chest wall and watch where you nipple areolar complex goes... down! You need a breast specialist who can place implants into a subpectoral position and perform a breast lift. You'll need resorbable mesh to secure your implants under the muscle too.

When you visit with your surgeon repeat what you wrote above. This describes what you were hoping for and what concerns you still have. Your surgeon will examine you and discuss options to help you get closer to your desired look. You may want to bring along wish photos that demonstrate the look you are wanting. You can also indicate from your own photos what about your breasts you would like to see changed. Please keep in mind that surgeons must work within your anatomy and each person is unique.

I am sorry you are not happy. You really needed a lift, but did not choose the lift. Your pockets can be tightened laterally to limit the movement of your implants and you could still get a lift. Naturally, your breasts sit somewhat low on your chest and the bases of your breasts cannot be moved higher. You will not have high perky breasts.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note that your left breast implant drifts laterally and upward when lying in bed on your back. The margins of the right implant is visible under the skin. Although asymmetry is noted when supine, it is far less noticeable when in a standing position.Lateral drift is a condition where the surgical pocket is too large for the implant which will fall into the armpit when on your back. This may be caused by weakened connective tissue. Subglandular implant placement may result in implant margin silhouette. You may wish to consider a revisional procedure to convert the implants into a submuscular position to camouflage the implants and to tighten the superior and lateral pocket to eliminate lateral drift. 15% of cosmetic surgeries require a secondary touch up procedure to achieve optimal results.In order to increase superior pole fullness, a larger implant or a lift may be required.Revisit your plastic surgeon for reevaluation and advice.Best wishes...

Your breast complaints at 6 months post surgery would benefit from the scheduled return visit and examination by your plastic surgeon. Augmented breasts are not commonly perfectly symmetrical, nor can the implants always fill the upper poles to meet a patient's expectations. A re-examination and review of your pre-operative photos may shed some light on the nature of what you see. Photos alone are not that helpful in diagnosing problems and considering treatment option(s). Your post-op appearance in the standing photo appears much improved with your breast implants. when you are lying flat your implants appear to be in good position. you don't appear to have very good skin tone. i always put breast implants under the muscle (for first time BA) because i feel that the muscle helps hold it in the correct position and helps limit mobility of the implants. I also feel that it makes them less likely to get a capsule contracture that is significant. However, it is important that you realize that this is just my opinion and many good surgeons will put the above the muscle.

in the front view, it seems like you may have too much skin and that they have slid downward somewhat. it may be helpful to switch them to under the muscle, but you may also need to have the inframammary fold tightened which would require more scarring.

Again, it is important to note, that your surgeon did not do anything wrong. He cannot control your skin elasticity. You have to decide if it is worth the expense and trouble to re-operate. Only you can decide this.
