Can I get a full tummy tuck after I had an umbilical float? (Photos)

What would your revision advice be? What would you do to get the result I want? If I could accept a little less result than my wish (in between current and wish); could it than just be lipo? Is it possible to keep you own belly button after an umbilical float?

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you were NOT a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck and umbilical float. What happened to you is a poorly devised operation. You already started out with a belly button lower than ideal, and then it was floated even lower. What could've your surgeon have done? Place the abdominoplasty incision lower. Now, you have a high incision, excess skin in the lower abdomen (did not want to drag your umbilicus lower) and an odd looking abdomen, even though it is flat.If you were my patient, I would redo your abdominoplasty with full muscle repair, liposuction your torso, define the semilunar lines and epigastric mid-line, lower your incision and remove your belly button. You will end up with a short vertical incision above the low abdominoplasty incision. A BB can be reconstructed 2-4 weeks later under local anesthesia with no visible or minimal scar and in the appropriate location to give an aesthetic looking abdomen.See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. If it has been at least several months since the original operation, you should be able to convert to a full tummy tuck after having a mini with umbilical float. There is a risk of healing problems, and it is possible that you may have a small vertical scar, but it seems like the best choice for you based on the pictures.

Loss of circulation to your umbilicus is a concern after a floated umbilicus procedure and why I don’t do it. There was a recent paper in our literature that showed converting to a full tummy tuck can be done but I have no personal experience with it. From your photos however I don’t think you need a full tummy tuck.
