5 months post-op and I still have a pooch and rolls when I sit. Do I need a revision? (photos)

Question

I’m 5 months post op I did well with swelling and don’t experience much swelling anymore since about one month post op I felt like my skin began to relax! I feel less confident and embarrassed as when I sit I look really big still. I look Ok when I stand....and only weighed 145-150 at surgery! I DID NOT LOOSE ALOT OF WEIGHT BEFORE I HAD SURGERY! I haven’t gained any weight either! Do you think this is revision worthy?

Thank you for your question and photos. I am sorry, but a revision will not do. You need one or two new  well executed operation(s). It is obvious that no liposuction was done or minimum at best. You have a fat abdomen and most likely lots of fat on the back (partially seen when you are sitting in your car), a very high abdominoplasty incision (at least 3-4 inches from the groin crease).If you were my patient, I would do liposuction of your torso 360 degrees first. At a second stage, you need your abdominoplasty redone completely and lower the incision to the pubic bone level. As a Total Definer body sculpting surgeon, I approach the body in three dimensions as opposed to a standard two dimension abdominoplasty done by most surgeons.Again, this is not a revision, and if you will go in for one (especially with the same surgeon), you will be disappointed.See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. It looks that you might benefit from revision. Additional skin excision, lowering of the scar and aggressive liposuction of abdomen would be my set of thoughts based on these photos. However, I would suggest waiting at least one year from your surgery before you proceed with revision. In person consultation is recommended. Good luck.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.
