I'm only 33 but I lost a lot of weight recently and have noticed my skin is loose. I still have a double chin (genetic) and now it looks like I have jowls. Would I benefit from a neck lipo and lift? Any other options to improve my jaw line?
Answer: Chin Liposuction and Thermitight Chin liposuction helps reduce the bulge under the chin and can be done for the whole neck. Once the fat is removed the skin can become loose and saggy in some cases. It can be avoided by combining it with Thermitight which is a radiofrequency heat delivered under the skin to tighten it. Both chin liposuction and Thermitight can be done at the same time. The recovery is fast and it can be done under local anesthesia. Click on the video link below Regards Dr. J

Answer: Skin laxity and double chin: Know your treatment options Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it is impossible to provide you with any specific advise based on this single image, since it does not show a good view of the neck. I can tell you that in order to reduce your loose skin concerns along your jawline, you may consider a neck lift, which directly targets this frequent problem area. Based on your age, there might be other treatments to explore before going right to surgery however. Dermal fillers effectively restore definition to the jawline, while procedures like RF microneedling provide a firming effect to reverse early signs of skin laxity. To address submental fat under the chin, facial liposuction is often the top choice. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your needs and help you decide on the best option.

Answer: My Recommendation - Neck Liposuction vs. Neck Lift Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your jowls and neck after weight loss. Thank you also for your pictures. In my opinion, based on your pictures, weight loss history, and age, you do not need a neck lift. In my opinion you would benefit significantly from neck liposuction. I believe due to your age, the skin nicely and you will not need a full neck lift. Neck liposuction takes approximately one hour to complete. You can expect a two-week recovery. A neck lift in contrast, takes approximately 45 hours to complete an expected 2 to 3-week recovery. All in all, I would suggest neck liposuction rather than a neck lift. If you do undergo a neck if you do undergo neck liposuction and do not like the results, you can always convert to a neck lift. However, I think you will be more than satisfied with just neck liposuction results. Good luck. I hope this helps answer your question about what to do with a double chin and jowls. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Jawline Definition / Jawline Enhancement / Facial Sculpting / Facial Contouring -- injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
