Neck Lift for a Longer, Thinner, Neck?

Hello doctors, I'm a 24 year old female with a broad neck. Several years back my family noticed i have two 'lumps' on either side of my neck. I did an ultrasound but it showed normal structures only revealing thickened sternocleidomastoid muscles. My adam's apple is also prominent. Is there any surgery available to get my neck to look thin and elegant?

The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine what treatments will best rejuvenate your neck . During your initial examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. Thank you for your question. The anatomy of the neck is limited in what options there to change the structure.  Some fat can be removed in some cases, skin can be removed or tightened up if appropriate, and muscles can be tightened, but thinning out muscles are not always feasible.  See a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and have an evaluation of options. I hope this helps.

Pictures would be necessary to determine if a neck lift with fat removal and muscle tightening would be appropriate. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of necklifts and facial procedures each year. Without pictures it is difficult to make recommendations. The two lumps may be referring to your submandibular glands which are salivary glands. Some people have prominent, or sagging glands which can make a neck lift problematic because they can detract from the overall result. I would consult with an experienced facial plastic surgeon to discuss treatment options.

At age 24, a neck lift will be useful to remove fat above and below the platysma muscle. Make sure you at your ideal body weight, and any diet resistant fat in the neck can certainly be removed.
