I had a breast lift and augmentation after weight loss. Before weight loss I wore a 36DD. After weight loss I wore a 32 DDD. My surgeon and I felt it would be a good choice to be a full C on my 5'3, 120 pound frame. 3 days after surgery, I saw my doctor and my first sentence was, "These breasts are HUGE. " It's been a month and my breasts are now very soft and pliable so I believe the swelling is mostly gone. However, I am now a tight 32DDD. Is there any chance this will reduce to a size 32C?

Answer: Healing after breast augmentation and lift Hi and welcome to our forum!Healing after breast augmentationinvolves readjustment of the skin and soft tissue envelope to the presence ofthe added fullness and weight of the prosthesis within thebreast. The "drop and fluff" phenomenon may take 3 months or so. Following surgery, 60-80% of your postoperative swelling will subside by the 6th week, with the remainder dissipating over 6-12 months. It is still a bit too early to assess final size as you are only 4 weeks out. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon at your next visit and continue follow up care.Best wishes...

Answer: Breast lift results Dear sarahaas,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast lift and augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
