Hello I’ve been wanting a breast lift and I’ve been seeing a couple of doctors recommend me the Bellesoma method. I’ve seen pictures of it and I don’t understand how it’s even possible to even lift the breast without any vertical scars.. it seems fishy to me. Also I’ve noticed that lots of breasts has dents and looks boxy after Bellesoma. Why are there even many dents? Can someone explain to me please how this works ? Thank you to all doctors that answer :)

Answer: Breast Lift Hi AnastasiaBaby, Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often use an implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. Breast lift surgery aims to re-volumize the breast with either and natural implant or fat grafting followed by nipple repositioning using the lift. I prefer to use a vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern for more significant lifts. This reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. Mastopexy that requires less than 2cm of lift only needs a donut incision. Every incision is also closed in five precise layers without using reactive sutures that can cause inflammation and eventual scarring. If you are considering a breast lift, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: How does the Bellesoma method even works There is a periareolar scar and an inframammary scar. This can be done if you are willing to accept a flatter, less projected breast with a boxier appearance.

Answer: The No Vertical Scar lift is not new, but The Bellesoma Method is The Bellesoma Method was developed by Gary Horndeski, M.D. and uses a 3 dimensional scanner to determine the volumes and other critical problems of your breast. These measurements are combined with the patient’s desires to compute a solution for each patient individually and results in the generation of a blue print. The blue print is used at surgery to disassemble the breast and reassemble it to the specifications that the patient desired. This technique uses the excess skin from the top of the areola down to the inframammary fold to make an internal cone. The internal cone is attached to the pectoralis major muscle relieving pain in the neck, back, shoulder and provides long term stability. The wounds are then closed without vertical scars. This technique has been published in PRS Global Open in December of 2017, presented in an international meeting in 2018 and presented in the US at the esthetic meeting in 2016. I currently do this procedure in a hospital, which verifies the validity of this technique. You and anyone else are welcome to come watch me do this procedure if that will alleviate your concerns. In terms of dents, I really do not know what you are speaking of. There can be contour deformities with any procedure and these usually round out in time. In terms of boxy shape, this technique creates rounder breasts than the Wise pattern. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: How does the Bellesoma method even works Thank you for your questions. This method essentially works by bringing the breast mound up higher in the chest with the nipple still attached to the breast tissue and then "tucking it" under the upper breast skin and then making a new hole to expose the underlying nipple. It can be a good method for the right patient. It does avoid the vertical scar but like with most things in life, there is a trade-off. When you gain something, you lose something. This method can tend to leave an overly boxy shape and limits the ability to cone and shape the breast. Make sure you are seeing a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Best of luck!Dallas R. Buchanan, MD, FACSOwner & Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonVIVIFY plastic surgery
