My doctor like to use high profile and I think on my little breast tissue and small frame that it would look very obvious and fake. I am 5'2" 115 lbs and I wear a 32aa bra. I love the idea of moderate profile but she likes the idea of high profile. we are using 300cc silicone under the muscle . I'm back and forth about this idea so i would love to hear your thought And opinions! Thank you
Answer: Will high profile implants look to fake on me? Thank you for the question. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes.

Answer: High vs. Moderate Profile Implants I think you are wise to put some extra thought into the size and style implants that you would like to have for your augmentation. It is difficult to say from your description alone what the best implant will be for your body and there is no substitution for a live consultation. At 5'2" and 115 pounds I would imagine that you do not have a very big rib cage or much breast tissue to work with. There is a trade-off between quantity and quality when it comes to implants and no matter which profile you choose, if the diameter of the implant exceeds the diameter of your breast then you are more likely to have a less natural looking result. The high profile implants can fit into a narrower base but then their edges can stand out farther from the rib cage. A moderate profile implant would have a greater diameter at the base which may be more visible around the edges or which could even buckle or fold on a patient with a smaller rib cage. I would encourage you to have another consultation with your surgeon to look at both of these options up against your breast and rib cage to see what size and profile will fit your body the best.

Answer: Will high profile implants look fake? Thank you for your question. While it's difficult to fully answer your question without an examination, it's reasonable to expect that high profile implants will be more obvious, leading to the "augmented look" that some patients seek. If you're looking for a less obvious appearance, then you would likely be better-served by a different style implant.Having said that, however, each patient is different and the decision as to what size and style of implant to be used is a personal one that should be made by you in conjunction with your surgeon.I suggest that you speak frankly with your surgeon about your concerns and ask why she thinks that high profile implants are the way to go. Also, don't be afraid to ask for a recommendation for a second opinion - I often recommend to my patients that they seek a second opinion to reassure them of their decision. Ultimately, you need to be comfortable with the decision that you make and the surgeon who will be operating on you - if you're not sure about either, you should reassess your options carefully until you are sure about your course of action.Best wishes.

Answer: High profile implants High profile saline implants can look very fake but high profile silicone implants can give very natural results. Moderate profile implants are wider and flatter and don't deliver enough volume for a given diameter leading to complaints of "I should have gone bigger". Show your doctor pictures of breast sizes you like to assist her in implant selection.Good luck!
