I had IPL last Thursday. My face is pretty much all better but the purple bruising in my chest seem to be taking a long time. Does this look normal?
Answer: Purple bruising after IPL--Silagen + Bioshield, PDT therapy, Cosmelan, microneedling/prp I recommend following up with your cosmetic dermatologist for after care. I recommend Silagen + Bioshield and PDT therapy to promote healing. I recommend lasers with Cosmelan and microneedling/prp to improve outcomes. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: IPL Markings Hello TKCaliber, Thank you for your question and your photo. Be sure you keep the area clean. No rubbing or scrubbing when cleansing the area. Also keep the area moist and use sunscreen daily. Within a couple of weeks you should be able to see results. I recommend you follow up with your office. Good Luck on your recovery!

Answer: IPL on the chest It looks as though the settings on the machine were too high for that area, and you have suffered burns. Not to worry, they should heal just fine. Make sure you are putting sunscreen on the area and keep the chest out of the sun. Contact the clinic you had it done at, so they know the outcome of the treatment to make sure they drop the settings next time. The spots that are burnt may have over treatment and not blend in with the rest of the skin. In that case, you'll need another treatment with lower settings to blend it all in. Using a protective cream such as iS Clinical Sheald will speed up the recovery time. Make sure to contact the clinic it was performed at. If another treatment is needed, they may offer it discounted or complimentary, as this is the technician's error.
