I’ve noticed in many airsculpt photos the scars for bra back rolls are mid back and the scars for flanks are above the butt cheeks. I have also heard that other lipo techniques you can hide the back bra roll scars in the armpits and just have one incision site through the tailbone. Is that possible with airsculpt?
Answer: Incision Placement for 360 AirSculpt/Liposuction Hello, Thank you for reaching out with your question about incision placements for 360 AirSculpt and liposuction. Understanding the potential for discreet incision sites is important when considering cosmetic procedures. Here’s some information that might be helpful: AirSculpt Technique: AirSculpt is known for its minimally invasive approach, which typically involves very small incisions. The goal is to minimize visible scarring while effectively targeting fat removal. Incision Sites: The placement of incisions often depends on the areas being treated and the surgeon's technique. Common sites for incisions when addressing bra back rolls or flanks may include the mid-back or areas above the buttocks. However, some surgeons may offer alternative incision sites to better hide scars. Tailbone and Armpit Incisions: Feasibility: While traditional liposuction techniques sometimes use incisions in the tailbone or armpits to minimize visible scarring, whether this is possible with AirSculpt depends on the specific case and the surgeon's approach. Consultation: It's crucial to discuss your preferences and concerns with your surgeon. They can provide personalized advice on incision placement based on your body type and the specific areas you wish to target. Surgeon’s Expertise: Each surgeon may have their own preferred techniques for incision placement. During your consultation, ask about their experience with AirSculpt and how they plan to approach incision placement to achieve the best aesthetic outcome for you. Best Regards,

Answer: The placement of incisions Air scoped typically uses standard placements for incisions. The number of incisions is always the smallest number possible to get the job done. The placement of the scars is always strategic to try to hide it in the best possible place. Considering that the Kan Are straight and the human body is curved sometimes more incisions are needed. You cannot treat the back properly through a tailbone incision. The back can be treated from the back of the armpit, but usually a second incision is desirable to not do all the liposuction in one direction. Airsculpt uses a small biopsy tool to make smaller circular incisions. In my opinion, these are preferable to scalpel incisions because they look less surgical and more like a skin blemish. When looking at incision scars for lip section it’s important to remember that scars on the skin can take 12 to 18 months before they are faded completely. Often surgical after pictures are taken at 3 to 6 months at which time skin incisions still look really visible. Almost all of these scars will fade substantially from the time after pictures are taken. Rarely are after pictures taken as long as 12 to 18 months after surgery when the scars look ideal. Patients will sometimes bring up scars being visible at three month appointments, but it is rare that they represent an issue at The six month visit. Overall, it’s really rare that the incision scars are an issue in regards to the overall outcome and experience. Patients are less than thrilled about outcomes scores are usually pretty low on the list. The most important variable to consider is you on candidacy for Liposuction. This is what’s going to determine if you are a candidate to get a good result or not. I recommend always having in person consultations at which time you can ask the provider personally about where they will place the incision points. The standard incision placement used at airsculpt is in my opinion about the best it can be and still get the job done correctly. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
