I’m a 43 year old woman who got my botox shot for migraines about 3 months ago. I got a migraine and shoulder pain right away from it and the pain hasn’t subsided. It will decrease in intensity for an hour or two each day which gives me so much hope! My Neurologist told me it has nothing to do with the Botox and I am imagining the pain. I am losing hope. Is it from the Botox. I have been taking NSAIDs like crazy and using my Cefaly, but still no relief. Please help….no one else will.

If you are still recovering from your dental surgery you may want to wait until you have healed before considering Botox treatment due to swelling. I encourage you to speak to your provider for specific time frames as opinions may vary.
As you are receiving Botox for migraines and not cosmetic reasons the location of injections will be tailored to that outcome. If you are wanting to also address wrinkles then you can discuss that additional treatment with your injector.
Botox is injected into the muscle and will not leak from the injection site. By the time you leave the office from your treatment, leaking from the injection site is not a concern. Final results from your treatment will be seen within two weeks.
