Between the pain, heaviness & embarrassment I'm ready to do something. What do I with these keloid scars?

I have 2 huge keloids on both sides of my ears located on the cartilage they have grown so much to the point thy have started to deform my ear and are causing a lot of pain! I tried to get it removed through surgery and my insurance denied so I resulted to trying to do it myself only for it not to work because of where my ear has became part of the keloid.

Keloids can be improved with a combination of lasers, microneedling/prp, 5/FU steroids, and/or surgery with or without radiation. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Keloids are caused by "overhealing" of your tissues which is genetic.  Painful keloids removal should be covered through your insurance.  In general either resection with steroid injection, or resection with steroid injection followed by a 5 day course of low dose radiation therapy is effective in the majority of cases.
