Doctors did stitches on it which left a noticable scar which is severely impacting my self esteem when meeting people. Can this scar be completely removed or at least reduce it so it is not noticeable. See photo
Answer: PRP and Plato's Scar Serum for your nose scar I would start with application of Plato's Scar Serum and Plato's Dark Scar Corrector, followed by subcision, fillers, and PRP to help your scar. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles

Answer: For Best Results, Scars Should Be Treated Within A Critical 8-12 Week Window Following Injury Or Surgery First let me say that I am sorry you are suffering with this problem. It would have been very helpful to know how long ago the trauma and subsequent surgery took place, since there is a critical 8-12 weeks following injury or surgery during which scar treatments are likely to yield optimal improvement. For every month that passes beyond this window of time, scars continue to mature and mature scars are less likely to respond optimally. Back in the late 1980s, scarabrasions (dermabrasions) of relatively fresh scars during the optimal interval noted above often resulted in nearly imperceptible marks. Nowadays, I prefer medical microneedling for this purpose, which has been shown to be fine for use in people of color. (Be wary of lasers and other light-based devices as these may give rise to troubling pigmentary alterations in persons of color, such as prolonged postinflammatory hyperpigmentation and even permanent loss of pigmentation. Make certain that you seek consultation and treatment by a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck to you.
