Can my lips be fixed? They are overfilled and uneven (Photo)

Question

One week ago a dr went against my wishes and injected my top lip with an entire syringe instead of splitting it between my lips. Now I am grossly overfilled and uneven. I also have small white bumps that have formed. Is there a way of dissolving Juvaderm naturally quicker (too afraid to have it dissolved after reading reviews) or would massage help?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme which will dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane.  This is a simple office procedure which your treating physician should be able to do for you if you'd like the filler dissolved.

Hylauronidase has many advantages and should be considered in patients who are unhappy with their results or in acute cases of overfilling or occlusion. Its often better to reverse filler and restart then to deal with long term edema. Filler migration and permanence is a very common problem because there are many different types of HA fillers on the market and each is specified for a specific part of the face. Use of highly cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes Hylenex and Hyaluronidase in different strengths to dissolve the filler. We may also need to add Kenalog to the mix in order to reduce fibrous tissue. If the filler does not dissolve, it either means the filler is not HA material or we need more enzyme. The HA reversal can be combined with other lasers and skin treatments at the same time, and it usually (usually) does not affect adjacent tissue.

Thankyou for your question. Please wait a full 2 weeks for your lips to settle and then go back to your injector and ask for some of the filler to be dissolved. Don't be concerned about hyaluronidase .Its commonly used without any issues. Hope this helps

Hello - thank you for your question and for the photos. So sorry that your injector went against your wishes... That should never happen. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is get the filler dissolved, or wait until it breaks down on it's own... But that will take probably 6-9 months.
