Your Tummy muscles are very prone to spasm after surgery, probably because of the tightening and changing in orientation of the muscles. Most of the time it goes away on its own after several months, but I have had patients report this even years later! Stretching usually helps as well but not too soon after surgery!!!
Thank you for the question. Depending on when you had your tummy tuck performed, you may be experiencing some muscle spasms. Generally, this does resolve over the course of the first few months after tummy tuck surgery. If the spasm is uncomfortable , muscle relaxants may be helpful. Best wishes.
The major reasons for performing a tummy tuck is the removal of all excess tummy skin AND the taking in and tightening of the loose and split abdominal muscles. In the process of tightening these muscles, they are literally stitched to one another. When we laugh, lift weights and otherwise strain, our abdominal muscles tighten against a closed airway. When you did it with loose musculature, you did not feel the tightness the way you are feeling them now when they are quite tightened. This feeling will decrease in intensity with time. Enjoy your new tight tummy!

A high scar tummy tuck is unfortunate and not necessary. Now that the scar is there; however, I recommend the first thing you do is to wait one year for all the healing to take place and for the scar to fade to a more white color. Right now, it is red and it is the color that is bothering you...
