One of the less commonly discussed benefits of a tummy tuck is that it is quite effective at removing stretch marks, scars and tatoos of the lower abdominal region.  Because the skin is removed, any one of these can be removed as long as it is located below the belly button, in or above the hair bearing pubic region and between the hip bones.  The final scar is usually hidden by underwear or swim suits and does well long term.   It is possible to remove most of your tatoo with a tummy tuck.  A more definitive answer cannot be given without physical examination.   Good luck with your upcoming procedure!

Without pictures, it is difficult to answer this question well.  If the tattoo is located between the belly button and the pubic area, it should be able to be removed in a full tummy tuck.  An in person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will give you the best answer.
