Why does my left breast still hurt at 7 weeks post op?

I am 7 wks, and my right is wonderful, my left has been the problem all along. it has an ache seems everyday that may last for several hours, and feels like it burns inside at same time. I am 63 yrs old, and wondering if my age has anything to do with healing/ Everyone else doing great...Can the painful side cause pains just underneath my breast in the upper abdomen, and going down under my arm to upper side, as it is on the same side as aching breast..?

Sometimes, patients experience sensations of burning, tearing, crawling feelings or "zingers" as the small cutaneous nerves of the skin wake up after surgery. These nerves can be unavoidably cut during surgery with the skin incision and it may take several months for them to heal together. Usually by 3-6 months, nerve pain subsides.it is also not uncommon for one side to heal faster than the other. Communicate with surgeon and discuss your options.

Thank you for your question.  It is important to see your plastic surgeon for an examination and proper diagnosis.  It is not uncommon for the type of pain that you describe to occur 7 weeks after breast augmentation as the nerves which were stretched during surgery heal.
