Answer: Not an unusual appearance five weeks after a facelift. Swelling at the junction of the orbicularis muscle and the rest of the cheek after a facelift can be persistent. Usually this is best left alone. In recalcitrant cases a small amount of dilute steroid sometimes helps.

Answer: Puffiness under eyes after facelift Thank you for your question for sharing your concerns with us as well as your photos. The puffiness under your eyes may take time to resolve, but should do so if they were not present before surgery. You may want to consider using compression (e.g. silicone sheets) when feasible as this may help mitigate the edema from building up under the eyes. In addition, lymphatic massage can help. I would make sure that you continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon during this period of time.

Answer: Swelling of the eyes after a lower facelift. This is not a uncommon situation depending on the invasiveness of the facelift. If the swelling in the area wasn't there before surgery it will slowly fade. Although difficult, sleeping with the back and head elevated will help greatly and time. Good Luck, it looks very nice.

Answer: Puffy Eyes 5 Weeks After Facelift Everyone heals differently, but most facelift patients will see the bruising and swelling fade within two to three weeks after surgery. In some instances, it may take longer, up to another month or two. If you are concerned about the swelling and bags under your eyes, don't hesitate to contact your plastic surgeon so he or she can take a closer look and advise you accordingly. It's important to remember that swelling below the lids in the upper cheek area can, on occasion, last several months. Massage therapy may be helpful.
