Swelling at the junction of the orbicularis muscle and the rest of the cheek after a facelift can be persistent. Usually this is best left alone. In recalcitrant cases a small amount of dilute steroid sometimes helps.

Thank you for your question for sharing your concerns with us as well as your photos. The puffiness under your eyes may take time to resolve, but should do so if they were not present before surgery.  You may want to consider using compression (e.g. silicone sheets) when feasible as this may help mitigate the edema from building up under the eyes.  In addition, lymphatic massage can help.  I would make sure that you continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon during this period of time.

This is not a uncommon situation depending on the invasiveness of the facelift.  If the swelling in the area wasn't there before surgery it will slowly fade.  Although difficult, sleeping  with the back and head elevated will help greatly and time. Good Luck, it looks very nice.

Generally speaking, it can take 6 to 12 months to completely heal after a facelift procedure. I would strongly recommend speaking with your surgeon or his/her clinical team to discuss your concerns further.

Everyone heals differently, but most facelift patients will see the bruising and swelling fade within two to three weeks after surgery. In some instances, it may take longer, up to another month or two. If you are concerned about the swelling and bags under your eyes, don't hesitate to contact your plastic surgeon so he or she can take a closer look and advise you accordingly. It's important to remember that swelling below the lids in the upper cheek area can, on occasion, last several months. Massage therapy may be helpful.

A facelift can leave swelling in the face for several months.  Usually within a few week most swelling goes away but some can last especially with activity for several months.

Numbness is common after facelift surgery and can take a year to improve.The puffiness of your eyes can persist but by 2 months I would expect any puffiness caused by the facelift to resolve.You do have what appeared to be festoons below the lower eyelids, and these are not caused by the facelift but RN aging change of the mid face.  Ask your surgeon about the festoons which are very difficult to correct.I also noticed that the left side of your forehead does not raise as well as the right.  Hopefully this will continue to improve.
