Neck and lower facelift 3 years ago. Pain from the onset and still not resolved. Lots of burning and pulling sensations. External numbness to both sides of the face and neck. The pain seems to run along the trigeminal nerve path. My head feels so tight and I have constant headaches. My neck feels tight. I could go on and on. I've had all types of therapies and seen specialists and doctors. I am on pain killers and have tried anti seizure drugs. Nothing works. Original surgery done o/s.

Answer: Chronic pain after facelift is extremely rare.
Dear angel, thank you for your question. Swelling after a facelift may persists from
weeks to months, causing bumps or asymmetries to appear. Follow up with your surgeon to check if this
is swelling versus something else and if treatment is indicated. Best of Luck.
Hematomas occasionally occur With facelifts. Prompt treatment should allow for near normal recovery. It six weeks there is still sizable inflammation that will improve with time. There's no indication for interventional treatment at the present time.
There are many options for restoration of facial asymmetry after trauma to the facial nerve. Some involve repair of the nerves, some muscle transfers, and some soft tissue readjustment. You need to see a plastic surgeon who commonly deals with this problem.
