I want a smaller nose with a sharper tip. A clinic I visited suggested alar reduction, long nose correction, tip plasty, and bulbous nose correction. Does this sound correct? Or do I need osteotomy? They also said they would remove the fat on my nose bridge. I have a thick skinned nose
Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos, you have bulbous tip and thick skin. With open rhinoplasty your nose can be more slim but you need to be patient about the healing process because of your skin type. The swelling will be gone like after 1,5 years after your surgery. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Rhinoplasty: things you should know Thank you for submitting your question and photos. Rhinoplasty can reduce the size of your nose and define the tip for a sharper, less bulbous appearance. To narrow a wide nose, either alar base reduction or osteotomies are performed, depending on the root cause. A thorough examination is required to determine if the nasal width is caused by tissue or bone structure before deciding on the best approach. If you have thick nasal skin, grafts may be inserted to provide adequate structural support and create a well-defined nasal tip. Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your concerns and determine the best approach to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Personalized plan Hello,I would recommend the following plan for you:I would perform a lateral osteotomy and increase tip rotation. Also, I would increase length of the labiocolumellar angle (it would make the nose appear shorter and sharper, it is a better option for you rather than a direct shortening of the nose)Best regards,DR CBS

Answer: What procedures might be appropriate for your nose? What procedures might be appropriate for your nose? from the photo you present, it appears that your nose is somewhat long and over projecting. It also appears to have a Bulbous Tip and slightly high radix. It is rare that a Rhinoplasty can be done without osteotomies but you might actually be one of those few cases that would get away without doing osteotomies. although a little rasping and deepening of your radix would be desirable. The main emphasis would be on the Bulbous tip with some shortening of the length and projection of the nose with slight elevation of the tip. I don’t think a nostril tuck is called for, since your nostrils do not look wide. If the nostrils are not excessively wide and the nostril tuck is performed it may compromise the air flow.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for a wide, droopy tip. I agree, you appear to have thick nasal skin with a crooked nasal appearance, and a bulbous, dependent, droopy nasal tip appearance. Well performed rhinoplasty techniques may be employed for achieving a less droopy, narrower straighter and less distracting nasal appearance. In all likelihood, osteotomies would be necessary. Please consider meeting with several other reputable, rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer imaging so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Thank you for sharing your photos and I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph.
