I got microneedling done. Two giant red spots on nose. (Photo)

Question

On Friday I got microneedling done and the dermatologist jabbed the ben onto the bridge of my nose. What resulted is two small red dots. They won’t go away. I’ve tried putting neosporin on them twice a day and now am using mederma. I bled a lot when she jabbed it. I’m hoping they don’t scar. How can I minimize this?

I don't think there is anything to worry about. This will heal over the next few days. This part of the nose has very thin skin and bony prominence and so this can happen. Again, nothing to worry about. Just give it some time.

Thanks for your question. With a little more time these areas should clear up nicely. This is an area where there is a bony prominence and it is very common to have a little more bleeding/bruising in this area. This was likely not due to your provider slamming the pen in the location but merely the fact that there is a prominence. Despite being aware of this and trying to be cautious about this area it still frequently will end up this way. You should not have any problems with scarring due to this and likely just a little more time and this will clear up. Good luck

Hi ruphiolis,Your wounds look like they are superficial - and if your provider used the precision pen, the depth is controlled. Like the rest of your face, try not to touch it too much.
